They are just hard enough so that some research is required to complete the puzzle. (My sister calls that "cheating"; I call it "learning".) Researching answers enlarges my knowledge on many subjects, I use all sorts of information: atlas, encyclopedia, dictionary, maps, movie review books, anything that can aid me in solving crossword puzzles. I am 85 years young
