Echo Made Easy ReviewWhen first learning echo, I was dismayed to not be able to find a simple, concise book that allowed me to grasp the many echo concepts that were thrown at me. No more.
This book is a must-have for beginning echocardiographers. The descriptions are concise and clear, the illustrations are excellent (a first for most echo books), and it is very logically organized. The price is very reasonable (for medical books), and it is pocketable.
The author clearly knows about teaching and getting points across to learners. Kudos to him for filling this gap in the echo book market.Echo Made Easy Overview

Workbook for Radiation Protection in Medical Radiography ReviewHaving utilized Mary Alice Statkiewicz-Sherer's excellent text Radiation Protection in Medical Radiography through all three of her excellent editions I feel that I can well recommend this as not only a course level text book but an excellent review. The authors do not stand on the historic scare tactics of many others and yet cover this extensive topic with clarity and objectivity. My students have done well with this book as a text and study guide for the Radiation Protection section of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Radiographer examination. I find this is one of the only texts to cover the topic of radiation hormesis with truth and clarity that bespeaks the findings of the extensive double longitudinal study on radiographers performed by the University of Minnesota. With full knowledge as an educator of some 36 years I find this inexpensive paperback version excellent for student afordability.Workbook for Radiation Protection in Medical Radiography Overview

Interventional Radiology: A Survival Guide ReviewI have this book. This is a good introductory book but without too in depth detail. One would be better suited with the Handbook of Interventional Radiology Procedures as a pocket guide. The Requisites and Valji's IR text are excellent. A's IR book is very in depth but easy to read. As a first text for IR, I would go with Valji or the Requisites. If you are a resident, go with either one. If you are a fellow, good luck findings time to read anything but then again, you must have already read one of these books. The handbook is a good quick reference for indications/contraindications, injections rates and statistics (success rate, mortality and complication rates), meds, dosing. This is good for problem solving and patient guide. As technical skill comes with time, I would use this to help decision making. Remember, you can do many things (technically) in IR, but the real question is, "Should you." Books that answer the "should you" questions is what you need to get.Interventional Radiology: A Survival Guide Overview
