They are a bit better for a younger audience due to glittery descriptions, simple plots and whimsy of the third degree; which can all make stories drag for adults. The stories are also heavily moralizing and/or allegorical, but as the attitudes are modern, this is not objectionable in the least.
There is an unofficial but active table of contents, but no illustrations.
