Movie Mania Crosswords to Keep You Sharp (AARP) ReviewIt seemed this book of crossword puzzles would be focused on individual films. And, indeed, the title for each crossword is that of a specific 1990's film. But the clues are random. A few are related to films and film-making, but even most of those are unrelated to that puzzle's title, with the majority of the words/clues in each puzzle totally unrelated to films (e.g. "spheroid hairdo" "slangy agreement"). Had each film-titled crossword puzzle had words and clues specific to that film (sort-of a combination of film trivia and crossword puzzle), they would have been quite enjoyable and there might have been some I could have completed. But there are too many clues that were too far removed from what I was expecting (given the book's title) for me to even want to try them.
For those who want general crosswords, with film-based titles and probably an average number of film-based clues as any other crossword puzzle, you may enjoy this. But not for those who want a purely FILM-based set of crossword clues and answers. I'm fairly intelligent and knowledgeable, but given the complexity of some of the clues, this is also not for people - like me - that are only starting to do crossword puzzles at all, particularly if you simply want a 'fun film review' or 'film self-test' in the process.Movie Mania Crosswords to Keep You Sharp (AARP) Overview
