Neurology and Neurosurgery Illustrated ReviewThis is an excellent addition to anyone's medical library. It is especially useful to those doing primary care. The descriptions of the various disorders are clear-cut and consice in easy to understand descriptions. The illustrations further reinforce the text allowing one to better visualize the affliction, the related anatomy, and any diagnostic testing. A well worth investment.Neurology and Neurosurgery Illustrated Overview

McGraw-Hill Specialty Board Review Neurology, Second Edition ReviewI found this 2nd edition question book to be very helpful in covering the multiple topics on the board exam and overall had good explanations with the references. Of course, like most review books out there you have to watch out for mistakes (whether typos or they say the answer is B and you realize they meant C based on their reason, etc...) With what's out there currently, I would definitely recommend using this as part of your "plan of action" for RITE or boards studying. What I did was set a goal for a certain number of questions to do/review per day over the course of exam prep--trust me some days you'll exceed that and others you won't but as long as you average out you know you can get those 1200 done and reviewed.McGraw-Hill Specialty Board Review Neurology, Second Edition Overview

Primer of EEG: With A Mini-Atlas ReviewI bought this book in anticipation for an EEG rotation during my PGY-2 year of Neurology training. I wanted a book that reviewed basic concepts with only essential information. I also wanted a book with plenty of pictures. This book fulfilled those criteria perfectly.
Unlike some other EEG books I have come across, this book has plenty of actual EEG images in its mini-atlas. It is hard for the beginner to tell the difference between a Mu rhythm or a PDR just from reading a description. The mini-atlas has examples of normal EEGs, variants, artifacts and abnormal EEGs.
Another strong point is the writing style. Reading this book, you feel as though you have an experienced attending showing you the EEG; you can imagine yourself looking on as he or she teaches.
Finally, I recommend this book because I used it and, on my first day on EEG, the attending told me he was impressed by how much I knew. This book is short and can be read in one-two days. It's worth a couple days of reading to get a compliment from an attending on your first day.
I have since looked at some other good EEG and neurophysiology books, however I haven't found one with such a personable writing style or large atlas. I recommend this as the first book to be read for an EEG rotation.
