First Aid for the Surgery Clerkship (First Aid Series) ReviewAt least half this book is exactly the same as First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship, but it does a good job of describing pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and surgical management of issues. It's helpful that it includes chapters on the various surgical subspecialties.

First Aid for the Emergency Medicine Clerkship, Third Edition (First Aid Series) ReviewThis edition is a huge improvement on the 2nd edition. Some subjects were combined while others were address separately, which for most I think was a good idea. The only flaw was that in the second edition they had this cardboard page that you could rip and have as a labcoat notecard for quick reference, whilst in the third edition they just printed it on a regular page with the heading "you can photocopy if you want it" and make it a notecard. Other than that its a great book for the ER clerkship. Crush Step 2: The Ultimate USMLE Step 2 Review ReviewOverall I am pretty disappointed in this book. Its treatments of the topics are, as others have said, overly simple (dont get me wrong, simple is usually a good thing, but the book is worthless if it dosent give any more detail than what the avg med student can regurgitate from memory any day of the week). It only makes a few basic points about each disease, which includes mostly stuff you should already know. It then ignores the more complex aspects, such as basic mechanism etc that are likely to be tested (usually through a 2nd or 3rd level question that appears more clinical in nature). The book also contains a large number of errors, which are largely conceptual (as in the author is directly saying something that is incorrect) as opposed to grammatical.
