It focuses on the key points and is a necessity for any anatomy and physiology student. It helped me pass my A and P classes. However, I would also recommend the following:
Tortora's Anatomy and Physiology textbook
Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations by Patrick Leonardi
Volume 1 isbn 0971999619, vol 2, isbn 0971999627,

Pocket Companion for Physical Examination and Health Assessment ReviewI use this handheld book for quick references at clinicals and in class. It has great color illustrations and is very easy to read. The full sized text was assigned in my assessment class so I went ahead and bought the handheld. I would reccomend it to any nursing student. Physical Examination and Health Assessment ReviewThis required text is (for once!) not dry. Jarvis provides plenty of tactful sample questions to ask patients during interviews. The author takes great care to define medical terms within the text so I'm not constantly reaching for my medical dictionary. There is no glossary, but the accompanying student lab manual has one for each chapter. Text also includes so many more photographs than Porth's Pathophysiology textbook.Physical Examination and Health Assessment Overview

Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination ReviewIf you don't go through this book before taking the NCLEX, you are doing yourself a great disservice. I just took (and passed) the NCLEX, and there were many questions of the type in this book. I found the case study chapters to be a little less beneficial than the chapters in the front of the book, so if you are pressed for time, you can probably skip the case studies. And some of the questions in this book are harder than anything I saw on the NCLEX, but it is worth the mental pain to go through them. You will feel so much more comfortable when answering questions on the NCLEX that have to do with prioritizing which patient you assess first, which patient you should visit first, etc. Get this book.
